Celebrating long service: Carl Doherty, Annette and Regan Doherty, Gary Edgar, Christian Mair and Brent Doherty

Long-serving Elegance in Eyewear and Euro Optics team members, Gary Edgar and Christian Mair, were celebrated recently on one balmy evening in the Viaduct in Auckland. Between them Edgar, territory manager, and Mair, operations manager, have clocked up an impressive 45 years of service, with Edgar celebrating 25 years and Mair, 20.

“We are very grateful to have Christian and Gary as part of our team for so many years,” says company managing director Carl Doherty. “They are very hard working, dedicated and loyal with a vast amount of knowledge. It has been and continues to be a pleasure to work with them.”

Edgar points out that those celebrating this milestone (see picture), Euro Optics’ founders, Carl’s parents Annette and Regan Doherty have actually contributed an impressive, combined 150 years of service to the New Zealand and Australian optical industry. “The Doherty family are great to work for, I guess we are now on terms like Aunty Annette, Regano and Carlos,” he laughs.
