Hamilton’s new educational evening

January 25, 2018 Michaella Dolling

We had our first of, hopefully, many educational evenings with local Hamilton ophthalmologist Mr Chris Murphy at the end November. Mr Murphy, an anterior eye specialist, informed attendees about the latest up-to-date techniques in pterygium, cataract and corneal cross-linking procedures and when, where and who to refer. After a lovely dinner and drinks in Victoria Street Bistro’s private rooms, Mr Murphy then ended the evening with a discussion about common corneal dystrophies and answered any questions we had.
Places were limited for this first evening, but after the great feedback we’ve had, about how interesting the talks were, many people asked when was the next educational evening, so we will be arranging another evening this year. Attendees also received 2.5 CPD points

Michaella Dolling is a locum optometrist who works in New Zealand, Australia and further afield. She organised this inaugural educational evening with Dr Chris Murphy after realising how much her travels have led her to appreciate both the ophthalmological talent in Hamilton and Hamilton itself.
