Nature’s Sunshine, a division of Nutricom Australasia, is boosting the sustainability of its entire product line and has launched a post-consumer recycled bottle for its antioxidant and nutrient supplement product Perfect Eyes.

“The worldwide interest in botanicals and herbal medicines has grown exponentially and a younger demographic is now using our range. We wanted to meet the needs and demands of these new consumers, leaving a smaller carbon footprint and lessen our environmental impact. We are only using sustainably-sourced, non-GMO ingredients, and where possible using certified organic, vegan or vegetarian, Halal, Kosher ingredients,” said Patrick Fahy, managing director Nature’s Sunshine New Zealand.

Perfect Eyes was developed to help slow the progression of common vision disorders such as cataracts and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Its formula is based on findings from several clinical studies, including the US National Eye Institute’s Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS) recommendations. It includes lutein (marigold flower extract 18mg/two capsules), zeaxanthin (3.6mg/two capsules) and mesozeaxanthin as well as vitamin A (beta-carotene), vitamin C, zinc, selenium and copper.

“Our product was designed to provide a quick and noticeable vision improvement and users indicate enhanced clarity of vision, colours being brighter, better focus, and overall improvement in close and distance vision. We have had reports of some people noticing improved vision within just a few days,” said Fahy.

Perfect Eyes is currently promoted direct to consumers and through a newly invigorated marketing promotion to eye care practitioners who wish to offer their patients more support, said the company.
