Pill tracks compliance?

The FDA has approved a pill with a sensor that digitally tracks if patients have ingested their medication. Abilify MyCite (aripiprazole tablets with sensor) have an ingestible sensor embedded that records that the medication was taken, sending a message to a wearable patch, which can be linked to mobile devices so patients, and their caregivers, can track ingestion.

The product is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia and other mental disorders, but paves the way for other medications to include digital sensors.
