The 13th Congress of the Orthokeratology Society of Oceania, OSO18, will run from 5-7 October at the Royal Pines Resort on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

The conference will feature some of the best practitioners and researchers in the world discussing the latest in ortho-k lens design and research, said Gavin Boneham, OSO president. “The programme has a strong focus on myopia control and will offer something for everyone who is, or wants to be, involved in the stimulating field of ortho-k and myopia control.”

As well as lectures, the programme includes workshops on ortho-k, specialty lens fitting and advanced topography, with a special practical session on Sunday morning on how to set up and run a myopia control practice. International keynote is acclaimed Professor Earl Smith, College of Optometry dean at the University of Houston, who received the Glenn Fry Award and the Prentice Medal from the American Academy of Optometry for his research on the role of vision in regulating refractive development and eye growth.

The popular “Meet the Speakers” Friday night drink is back, complementing the ‘world famous’ themed gala dinner party on Saturday evening. To register, visit: www.oso.net.au/whats-on.
