Targeting a new, younger audience, Hoya Vision Care said its new photochromic Sensity range offers the fastest fading light-adaptive lenses available in the market.

The Sensity Fast lenses address wearers’ biggest pain point, the slow fade back from dark to light when moving from outdoors to indoors, said Craig Chick, managing director, Hoya Vision Care Australia and New Zealand. “There are many photochromic lenses on the market but until now something has been missing. With Sensity Fast we developed a lens that many eyecare professionals were asking for, one that has a rapid fade speed, making the move from outdoors to indoors a seamless experience for wearers!”

Internal product performance validation showed Sensity Fast is up to 45% faster in reaching the half-faded-back state compared to the fastest fade-back of the two leading players in the market, Hoya stated. Performance tests also demonstrated the Sensity Fast takes less than 50 seconds to reach half-faded-back state, when starting from 76% (category 2).

Adding 100% UV protection and modular blue-light control, Sensity Fast wearers are protected both outdoors from the sun and indoors while working on digital devices, Chick said. “This lens is going to be popular with younger generations and people on the go. They’ll love it because it’s so fast!”

The Sensity range includes Sensity 2, Sensity Dark and Sensity Shine, available in grey and brown.
