Danish designer eyewear Fleye, as worn by Kiwi celebrity chef Al Brown, has appointed its first on the ground rep in New Zealand, Tracey Dobson, who’s set up her own company, Lotus Star, to accommodate the new move.

Dobson used to work for the jewellery side of Australian-based distributor, House of Brands KJ, which previously looked after Fleye in this part of the world. Though responsible for jewellery in New Zealand, Dobson was often called upon to help with Fleye. So, she’s familiar with Fleye and many of Fleye’s Kiwi customers and a big fan of the brand, she says, and was delighted when she was asked to directly represent Fleye here. “Working with Fleye, I came to really enjoy the industry, so when the offer was made, I jumped at it. Annette Estø, creator and one of the founders of Fleye, is the most inspiring and motivational person I have met and I’m very happy to be working alongside her on this venture.”

Estø is equally pleased to have Dobson on the ground to help and support Fleye’s customers directly, after building up a loyal customer base over the past four years. “We are pleased to have Tracey as our distributor in New Zealand and are very much looking forward to a stable long-term collaboration. There is a great potential for Fleye in New Zealand as Danish design is much appreciated here.”

As well as Fleye, Dobson will also be representing Australian frames distributor Eye Candy Optics’ Iyoko Inyaké brand, designed in Belgium and handcrafted in Japan.
