Essilor has launched a new affordable vision testing tool, ClickCheck, to help overcome financial and practical barriers to vision screening in the developing world.

Priced at a fraction of an autorefractor, ClickCheck is portable, easy-to-use and does not require electricity to operate, making it ideal for vision screening in all settings, from semi-urban areas to rural villages to the most remote of communities,” Essilor said in a statement.

Recognised for its impact in bringing vision care to underserved communities, ClickCheck was commended at the 2020 International Design Excellence Awards and received three awards: gold in the medical and healthcare category; silver in the social impact category; and a special Jury’s Chair award
