Serengeti’s prescription power

An impressive 98% of Serengeti’s sunglass range is available in prescription +6.00 to -8.00 (cylinder 4.00), making the range particularly popular with prescription wearers. Its Variodrive lenses are up to 72% thinner and 45% lighter than conventional prescription lenses, said Serengeti and Bollé Australia’s Paul Harrison.

Serengeti’s borosilicate mineral lenses are made from patented Corning optical glass, created through a unique hydrogen-firing process and chemically tempered to ensure scratch and impact resistance, Harrison said. “This process allows our mineral lenses to withstand extreme temperature changes and gives the best visual acuity you could ever experience.” An anti-reflective coating is added to the backside of the lens, cancelling reflective glare.

The classic ‘50s shape Aurora 8939 featured here is given a modern twist with rounder lines. The model is a small fit and comes with polarised Drivers ultra-light lenses.
