With more than 500 exhibitors confirmed and international visitor pre-registrations already at 2019 levels (53%), this year’s Silmo Paris optics and eyewear trade fair looks promising, organisers said.  

“Figures so far suggest distribution of French-international participation similar to that of 2019 and lead us to believe we’re on track for a global fair,” said Eric Lenoir, Silmo fair director.  

The fair will showcase new trends and innovations, with Silmo Next hosting talks on industry tendencies and sector decoding to aid a technologically sustainable future. Silmo d’Or will announce 2021’s winners, while Silmo Academy will award a €10,000 (NZ$16,866) grant to a research project in the field of optics and vision science.
