Stars and their eyes… Sam Smith

British singer songwriter Sam Smith had to undergo eye surgery while holidaying in New Zealand recently due to a nasty stye on his right eye.
In true celebrity style, Smith documented his experience, posting images of his swollen eye on Instagram. He said the lump on his eye was getting "worse and worse" and told his followers he was worried about the forthcoming operation, but was "super hyped" to wear the pirate patch. He lightened the mood still further by captioning his selfies with an amended version of his famous song title, “Stye with me”.
Sam Smith is perhaps best known for his awarded album In the Lonely Hour including top hit Stay with me. His song, Writing's on the Wall, the theme song for James Bond film Spectre, won him a Golden Globe in 2016 for best original song.
