ODMA’s change at the top

June 8, 2023 Staff reporters

Former acting CEO Amanda Trotman is the new CEO for the Optical Distributors and Manufacturers Association (ODMA).

The ODMA board is delighted to welcome Trotman as the association’s new CEO, said chairman Rob Sparkes. “Amanda has demonstrated a remarkable ability to work with the board, our industry and partners over the last 18 months. Congratulations, Amanda, on this well-deserved appointment!”

Prior to delivering a successful O-Show in 2022 and developing the association’s partnerships and reporting, Trotman has held project-management and marketing roles in major corporations, plus business-development roles in not-for-profits. She has also ranked 15th on the Business Review Weekly self-made female entrepreneur list and was a Telstra Small Business Award NSW finalist. More recently, Trotman served as executive director for the Jewellers Association of Australia.

Working for ODMA, Trotman said she has found many parallels with her experiences in other industries. “I’m excited to continue taking the role forward, building more great relationships and continuing the strong presence and stability that ODMA has accomplished for many years,” she said.

Trotman replaces Finola Carey who has retired after 27 years in the role.
