Quality and devotion to the craft are fundamental values for designer Ignazio Ibba, whose handmade optical lenses and sunglasses are forged from a passion for excellence in eyewear.

Born in Sardinia, an island rich in natural beauty, Ibba brings his cultural heritage and artisanal excellence to the New Zealand and Australian eyewear industry. “It is this naturally rich environment that we draw inspiration from, weaving European luxury fashion concepts and a Sardinian passion for beauty into our design process. In each piece, I want people to see the marriage of the finest Italian cotton acetate, titanium frames and sustainable materials in the industry with the stunning visual backdrop that is my homeland,” he said.

The Ibba family has a longstanding talent in craftsmanship. Since the 1930s, the family has achieved multi-generational success in leather processing and fine finishes, and architecture and industrial design. Moving to Australia in 2019, Ibba expanded his grandfather’s business and now leads the introduction of luxury Italian eyewear into South Pacific markets.

Each new piece is designed personally by Ibba and handcrafted with the utmost care and precision. “Enhancing the beauty of our natural environment is core to my family’s values. When people wear Ignazio Ibba, I want them to feel empowered by their reflection,” he said.
