The RANZCO 2018 Graduation and Awards Ceremony and President’s Reception was led by Associate Professor Mark Daniell, performing his last duties as outgoing RANZCO president before handing the reins to Dr Heather Mack, RANZCO’s first female president, at the RANZCO dinner.
Graduates and guests were treated to a heartfelt address from the evening’s keynote speaker Associate Professor Susan Neuhaus, from the University of Adelaide, before the awards were given. This year’s awardees included Drs Richard Stawell and Peter O’Connor who received College medals in recognition of their enduring and outstanding service to the College; Dr Nicholas Downie who received the RANZCO Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his exceptional devotion to the College and the community; Dr Peter Cooper who received the RANZCO Distinguished Service Award for Service to International Development in recognition of his exceptional devotion to international development in ithe Asian and Pacific region; and Dr Timothy Henderson who received the RANZCO Distinguished Service Award for Service to Indigenous, Māori and Pasifika Peoples in recognition of his exceptional devotion to the Australian Indigenous Community.
