MyDay Energys, CooperVision’s daily contact lens designed to relieve some of the tiredness and dryness associated with digital eye strain, has made its global debut in the US.
The lens incorporates Aquaform Technology, which the company said naturally hydrates it to twice its weight in water during wear, plus the DigitalBoost +0.3D single vision aspheric design, intended to ease eyestrain when the wearer shifts focus to and from a screen. In a CooperVision study of 77 soft CL-wearers, 80% agreed MyDay Energys made their eyes feel less tired and their vision was less blurry.
MyDay Energys are available in sphere powers of +8.00D to -12.00D (in 0.50D steps after +5.00D and -6.00D), with no plano option, and block 86% of UVA and 97% of UVB rays. The lenses are also part of an initiative whereby CooperVision buys credits with Plastic Bank, which convert an equal amount of plastic to every MyDay lens sold in the US.
