Pharmac is seeking feedback on a potential brand change of oral glaucoma medication acetazolamide 250mg (Diamox, currently supplied by Arrotex Pharmaceuticals) to a generic brand.
Acetazolamide is also used to treat idiopathic intracranial hypertension and rare forms of epilepsy. Pharmac’s consultation document states that in the event of the change being approved, acetazolamide will continue to be funded.
Pharmac is welcoming feedback via its online form or via email to tender@pharmac.govt.nz by 4pm on Friday 18 October 2024.
