Limited edition Dick Frizzell frames were re-released last month to mark the 30th anniversary of the artist’s well-known woodgrain print and to support of The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ.
For each frame sold at Specsavers, $25 will be donated to fund The Foundation’s mobile eye clinic (MEC), a state-of-the-art facility that travels to the most remote parts of Fiji to provide sight-saving services to those in need.
Frizzell said, “Years ago, I was challenged to hand paint a repeating pattern on a set of Crown Lynn dinnerware and, in desperation, I decided to make the china look like wood. Now, 30-odd years later, it’s fantastic to think that inspiration is helping to raise funds for such an important cause.”
