A new shared-care e-Learning course for implantable collamer lenses (ICL) for optometrists in New Zealand and Australia has been unveiled by Device Technologies in collaboration with Staar Surgical.

Developed with Sydney refractive surgeons Drs Alison Chiu and Patrick Versace, the course is designed for optometrists to help with the shared care of patients suitable for Staar ICLs. At the end of the course, participants will be able to describe the key features of ICLs, identify indications and contraindications for use and understand patient selection and pre- and post-operative processes and assessments, said the companies.

To receive CPD, optometrists need to complete the online course by 1 July (New Zealand) and 30 October (Australia). For more and to enrol, click here or scan the QR code.
