MED’s cataract kit

Medix21 has partnered with German ophthalmic supplier MED Medical Products to offer custom cataract, vitreoretinal, LASIK and intravitreal procedure packs.

Identifying a need for cost-effective custom-pack alternatives in the ophthalmic space, surgical sales manager Camille Furnandiz said Medix21 seized the opportunity to partner with a company that prides itself on quality, with the bonus of the end user saving money. “Although our relationship with Medical Products is still very new, we have already signed up with a private hospital in New Zealand to provide its custom cataract packs, providing cost savings on procedural needs on items that aren’t phaco and VR-machine-specific products.”

MED Medical Products manufactures up to 85,000 packs per month, as well as its own drapes and gowns, said Furnandiz. “The packs deliver the quality associated with German manufacturing and use well-known brands.”
