OPSM has appointed Tegan Matheson to a new role as country eyecare manager for New Zealand.
Matheson joined the EssilorLuxottica group in 2014 as an optical dispenser, later graduating as an optometrist with the company and subsequently becoming eyecare manager for Victoria and Tasmania.
Passionate about helping others, Matheson said she enjoys being actively involved in training and development, including in specialty areas such as intense pulsed light therapy and ortho-k fitting. “I have loved saying ‘yes’ to many regional relief opportunities and specialising in our technology. A highlight of my working career has been the ability to give back and volunteer with OneSight, now the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation. Being able to give the gift of sight to individuals is life-changing. I am looking forward to this new challenge and being able to positively impact and support a wider network."
Thanks to the Luxottica Eyecare Development Awards, Matheson has completed specialty courses in paediatrics, advanced contact lenses, plus public health and leadership.
