ZEISS Vision Care has launched the VISUREF 1000 in Australia and New Zealand, describing the device as a versatile refraction system combining objective wavefront autorefraction with multiple eye-screening functions in a single platform.
The VISUREF 1000 integrates wavefront refraction, keratometry, pupillometry, corneal topography, tonometry and pachymetry and incorporates a non-mydriatic fundus camera to support assessment of both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye.
The platform is designed to broaden the range of services available to consumers and to support comprehensive eye check-ups, particularly as some conditions become more prevalent, the company said.
“Changing lifestyles, evolving habits and an ageing population are contributing to a rise in eye conditions such as dry eye syndrome and cataracts. These trends emphasise the growing need for more advanced diagnostic tools to perform comprehensive eye check-ups,” said Dean Psarakis, optical product and training specialist at ZEISS Vision Care Australia and New Zealand.
The VISUREF 1000 also includes automated, non-invasive dry eye assessment, with operation and access to results facilitated through a 10.1-inch touchscreen. The company said the system is designed to connect with the ZEISS ecosystem to support streamlined workflows and centralised data management within practices.
