A new clinical study showed patients wearing Neurolenses had improved scores on a validated headache questionnaire. 

Using the Headache Impact Test (HIT) questionnaire, Neurolenses’ contoured-prism design produced a statistically significant decrease in the impact of headaches on individuals’ quality of life compared with placebo, said authors. “Although the overall magnitude of the reduction was not clinically significant, a clinically meaningful improvement with Neurolens treatment cannot be ruled out with high certainty in the current study,” they noted.  

The study should prompt evaluation of the treatment of vision-related disorders in patients significantly impacted by headaches or digital eyestrain who may not fit the existing diagnostic criterion for binocular vision issues, they said. Neurolenses provide an “objective way to diagnose and treat digital eyestrain-related headaches”, they concluded.  

The study was published by Translational Vision Science & Technology, the medical journal published by the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO).
