Eco-friendly frames launch

British eyewear designer Eyespace has launched a new sustainable eyewear collection, Eco Conscious, comprising 18 fashion-forward styles.

The collection is made from bio-based acetate, a completely renewable and sustainable alternative to regular acetate, said the company. “Bio-based acetate is non-toxic and retains the premium colours and textures of standard acetates. No harmful substances are used in the production of bio-based acetates, with even factory water being fully recycled.”

To further enhance the collection’s sustainability, and as part of Eyespace’s ‘planet pledge’, all packaging is plastic-free, with products provided to patients in fully recyclable and biodegradable protective cardboard pouches. For this collection, Eyespace has also partnered with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping reforestation to combat climate change, pledging to help plant one tree for every frame sold.

Eco Conscious styles are available in bold, on-trend colours and have bespoke pin detailing, laser-etched core wires and customised hinges, with a custom leaf-inspired logo placed within the tip plates to add a subtle reminder of the collection’s eco credentials.
