Glaukos announced it has entered into a collaboration and marketing agreement with Radius XR, the developers of a diagnostic device to conduct patient-guided vision exams.
A Glaukos statement described the Radius XR device as combining medical-grade diagnostics, business management tools and patient education resources within a wearable spatial computing device. Radius XR said its device assesses visual field, visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, Amsler grid, and colour scheme testing, with its test results equivalent to current gold standards, as demonstrated through a clinical trial.
Glaukos will initially market the Radius XR in the US, where Glaukos said it will enhance patient engagement and reduce staff workload. “We believe the Radius XR platform is a novel technology that can help drive more efficient and improved diagnosis for patients suffering from chronic eye diseases, while also creating efficiency and growth opportunities for eyecare practices,” said Thomas Burns, Glaukos chairman and chief executive.
