In a bid to honour sustainability efforts in the eyewear industry, Mido has launched a Certified Sustainable Eyewear Award for the most sustainable glasses and cases from Europe and the rest of the world.  

Each Mido 2023 exhibitor can nominate a pair of sunglasses, eyewear frames or case to compete across six categories. An international panel of judges will evaluate the competing products, which must meet the criteria of having been produced in compliance with sustainable practices, including using recycled materials, waste elimination, recyclability and use of renewable resources.  

The inaugural awards, launched in partnership with the Italian Association of Optical Manufacturers and the Italian Institute of Certification of Optical Products, will be awarded at Mido, from 4-6 February 2023.
