A new business to business trading platform called Optical manufacturers (OM) has been launched to facilitate direct sales of optical products to optometrists worldwide.
Launching the platform, OM said it hopes to provide a solution to the increasing competition and reduced margins faced by brands and optometrists alike, driven by a highly globalised market, profound changes in consumer purchasing habits and, more recently, limitations due to the Covid-19 crisis.
More than 60 brands from countries such as Spain, Italy, France and the UK are already registered, including Oliver Sloane, Bubble Gum Kids, Mango Eyewear and Pull & Bear Eyewear. Both sellers and buyers must be officially registered companies operating in the optical industry.
