Sharing the spotlight with its dry eye diagnostics, Ophthalmic Instrument Company (OIC) introduced Avizor’s Ever Clean Plus lens care system to New Zealand’s ophthalmic community at this year’s CCLS conference.

Ever Clean Plus is a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution containing biotechnological agents for deep lipid and protein elimination. It delivers disinfection, moisturising and neutralisation in only two hours, compared to the more standard six to eight hours, explained OIC’s Tim Way. “Optometrists who have offered the product to their patients say it’s not only more effective but is also improving contact lens comfort for wearers.”

A clinical study of the safety and efficacy of Ever Clean Plus showed both hydrogel CLs and silicone hydrogel CLs had lower lipid concentrations after one month of use compared with control, reported Avizor. The product was also found to be more effective against bacteria, fungi and Acanthamoeba while retaining its surface moisture qualities. The preservative-free solution is suitable for all contact lens materials including ortho-k.
