Donald Crichton is joining the NZ EssilorLuxottica team

EssilorLuxottica New Zealand has appointed dispensing optician Donald Crichton as its new national operations manager.

A shared commitment to strengthen and grow independent optometry meant that Crichton was a natural fit for EssilorLuxottica’s New Zealand business, said Kurt Tyson, NZ sales director. “Donald was a standout candidate due to his rich history and broad experience within the optical industry. His passion for independent optometry is evident and aligns with our own at EssilorLuxottica.”

In this newly created role, Crichton, who is currently president of the International Opticians’ Association, will oversee both the laboratory and customer service functions for EssilorLuxottica in New Zealand, said Tyson. “His focus is to ensure a superior level of service for our customers within independent optometry… as we continue to grow our business within the market.”

Fully committed to his new role, Crichton said he’s excited about his new position and is relocating from Kerikeri to Auckland from Monday to Friday. "I’m looking forward to collaborating with both customer service and laboratory teams in this dynamic and multifaceted role."
