Donald Crichton has joined the University of Auckland’s School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS) as a teaching dispensing technician.
The newly appointed president of the International Opticians Association and former president of the New Zealand Association of Dispensing Opticians, Crichton is returning to the same role he held in 2014-2015. “We are very pleased to have Donald back with us. His broad industry experience and the knowledge he can impart to the students is invaluable,” said Kristine Hammond, professional teaching fellow and optometry clinic dispensing supervisor.
Crichton said he is delighted to be returning to work at the University of Auckland eye clinics. “It’s a pleasure to work with the final-year optometry students, who are engaged and enthusiastic about the profession and it’s a great opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues again.”
