Dr Neil Avery has joined Thorndon Eye Clinic, after having recently completed his fellowship training in retinal diseases and vitreoretinal surgery.
“We are very excited to have Dr Avery on board,” said practice manager Emma Johnson. “With this recruitment, Thorndon Eye is expanding its services. The addition of another doctor will assist with bringing more support and efficiency to the existing team of ophthalmologists, as well as provide additional experience and skills to enhance the many different procedures and treatments we offer.”
Wellington born and bred Dr Avery said his interest in ophthalmology started when he was on an elective in Jamaica - a country he continues to visit regularly to provide outpatient ophthalmic services. When not busy at work, he said he enjoys spending time with his young family. He said, “I’m looking forward to working with the excellent team at Thorndon Eye to provide the best possible ophthalmic care and surgery for our patients.”
