Coopervision’s MyDay toric contact lens parameters have increased from 1,620 to 2,580, offering a 60% increase in available prescriptions.
“With new around-the-clock axes, practitioners can fit more astigmatic patients in premium silicone hydrogel one-day toric contact lenses,” said Joe Tanner, Coopervision ANZ’s professional services manager. The MyDay toric lens combines the proven design features of Biofinity toric with the premium silicone hydrogel one-day material of MyDay, said Tanner. “This proven toric technology, ‘optimised toric lens geometry,’ provides uniform horizontal ISO thickness, an optimised ballast band design, a large toric optic zone and a smooth, continuous surface to make it an easy-to-fit, stable lens.”
The MyDay series also offers a balance of high-oxygen permeability and high water content, providing optimal comfort while remaining strong, he said, adding the range’s inbuilt UV protection also filters 85% of UVA and 96% of UVB rays, helping support long-term ocular health. To help streamline the fitting process and minimise chair time, Coopervision is also offering eyecare professionals its OptiExpert fitting app, which includes a toric calculator.
MyDay multifocal
Coopervision has also launched MyDay multifocal lenses, expanding its premium silicone hydrogel 1-day family to cater for presbyopic contact lens wearers. MyDay lenses are the first to feature the company’s Binocular Progressive System, an innovative ‘three-add approach’ catering to all levels of presbyopia with simplified fitting, optimal visual acuity at all distances and comfortable wear, said Jessie Taylor, brand manager, Coopervision ANZ. “MyDay multifocal contact lenses are ideal for younger presbyopes as well as patients with more advanced presbyopia looking for a way to stay in, return to, or begin contact lens wear.
