Sasha Sergejew and Matt Murray

Based in Australia, Sasha Sergejew and Matt Murray are CR Surfacing Laboratories’ new business development managers for New Zealand, looking after the South and North Island, respectively. The new appointments follow the departure of business development manager Tertius Van Vuuren, who is pursuing a new chapter in his career, said CR Surfacing’s managing director Adam Fletcher.

Sergejew has been CR Surfacing’s national sales director in Australia for nearly 15 years and has over 40 years of experience in the optical industry, said Fletcher. “Sasha has worked both in manufacturing and retail settings and possesses extensive knowledge in optics, business management and customer relationships.” When not working, Sergejew said he loves spending time in the ‘big outdoors’ and is always planning his next great adventure in the wild.

Formerly with Alcon and Essilor, Murray recently celebrated his first anniversary with CR Surfacing. He joined the company because of its core values: supporting independent optometry practices and offering unparalleled quality of Australian-made products, he said. As a keen rugby fan and cricket player, Murray said he is, “truly excited about the opportunity to work with the global rugby dominator” and cannot wait to stock up on his favourite Pinot Noir from the local wineries.
