Oliver Munro is now OPSM’s country eyecare manager for New Zealand.
With a background in optometry at the University of Auckland, Munro’s appointment recognises his outstanding leadership and contributions, said Sephora Miao, EssilorLuxottica ANZ’s eyecare and medical and professional affairs director. “Oliver brings local expertise and a clear vision to advance eyecare excellence across our New Zealand network.”
A key focus in his role will be early detection, education, myopia management and creating an excellent patient experience, Munro said. “Through our technology and innovations, I endeavour to empower our optometrists and teams to consistently advocate for eyecare excellence and improved patient outcomes. I’m determined to support our optometrists on whatever path they choose, whether that be a specialty or management roles, to help them to realise their potential.”
When not busy at work, Munro is an active relaxer and you’ll find him running in the hills or the park with his nine-year-old greyhound, Moose, surfing, skiing, snowboarding or cooking – all preferably in the company of good friends and family.
Tegan Matheson, who held the country eyecare manager role for the past 18 months, has stepped into the role of OPSM senior professional services manager ANZ. “In this new position, Tegan plays an elevated role in shaping the future of our ANZ eyecare strategy,” said Miao.
