Dutch company Luxexcel, the world’s only technology provider for 3D-printed commercial lenses, recently picked up an international Prism award for its Vision Platform 7 solution to create smart prescription lenses.
Luxexcel claims its solution can solve a key challenge in the augmented reality industry – enabling fashionable smart eyewear with prescription lenses. “The Luxexcel Vision Platform is a complete turnkey technology solution, enabling partners to produce lenses for traditional and smartglasses. The technology is a stable, scalable platform with the flexibility to create large volumes of products with individual specifications, like a prescription.”
Luxexcel said its mission is to accelerate the adoption of consumer smart eyewear by meeting the needs of more than 75% of the adult world population requiring prescription lenses.
The Prism Awards reflect the latest developments and technical innovations across photonics and photonics-enabled industries and were held recently at The International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) conference in Bellingham, Washington, USA.
