A sparkling part V class

The New Zealand Optometry Student Society (NZOSS) hosted a sparkling annual Eyeball at Auckland Hilton Hotel at the end of August. Themed ‘Starry Night’, the evening was filled with celestial-style decorations and sound-tracked by a DJ. Distinguished guests from the School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS) dressed up for a night of spectacle, which included an open bar, lavish buffet and dazzling dance floor.

The Eyeball provided a rare opportunity for students and staff to come together and socialise with future colleagues and sponsors. It would not have been possible without our sponsors: a huge thank you to our diamond sponsor, Specsavers, also sponsoring merch for our students; our gold sponsor, EssilorLuxottica, also sponsoring prizes for the best partners; our silver sponsor, the New Zealand Association of Optometrists; and bronze sponsors Bailey Nelson and Ocula. Prizes for categories including the best-dressed duo in each cohort were provided by Oscar Wylee, Coopervision and Optimed. The success of the night was contingent also on NZOSS executive team’s months of planning.
