More than 240 eyecare professionals from around the country joined the Essilor New Zealand team for a friendly and informative Essilor Experts virtual meet, to catch up on the latest new developments in the Crizal and Varilux ranges while enjoying food and quizzes.

Despite it being Essilor NZ’s first virtual event, the feedback received was amazing, said national sales manager Kumuda Setty. Each practice received a dinner and drinks delivery for their team to enjoy during the virtual presentations, which were interspersed with six rounds of quizzes combining trivia with questions on Varilux and Crizal. “We had more than 50 teams competing in the interactive quiz, with Visique Eye Spy, Eyes on Broadway and Parker & Co teams scoring the highest points,” said Setty.

The Visique Goldsbury team added extra glamour to the event: Jacqueline and David Goldsbury with Gillian O'Kane

In between quizzing and dining, Essilor Australia’s professional services director Tim Thurn discussed the technical advantages of the new Crizal range and Varilux Comfort Max. “The new Crizal patented technologies deliver a step change in scratch and thermal resistance as well as Crizal’s outstanding anti-reflection, ease of cleaning and UV protection benefits,” he said. Guy Parbury, Essilor NZ business consultant, then covered retail strategy and lens consumer language, while Setty presented some new Essilor partner tools, including a new training platform and dispensing app.
