Following the acquisition of the Menrad brand and license agreements, Design Eyewear Group has appointed VMD as the exclusive distributor of Jaguar Eyewear in New Zealand and Australia.

“VMD already represents popular brands, Inface and Nifties, from the Design Eyewear Group portfolio in New Zealand and now continues with Jaguar Eyewear as part of our offering of high-quality, design-led collections,” said Carl Doherty, VMD general manager. “We’re proud to continue growing our relationship with Design Eyewear Group.”

The new agreement builds on a partnership between the two companies spanning more than a decade. “We’re excited to deepen our collaboration with VMD, who have been a trusted partner in the New Zealand market for over 10 years,” said Lars Flyvholm, CEO Design Eyewear Group. “Jaguar Eyewear embodies a sleek, dynamic design aesthetic that we know will resonate with New Zealand and Australian consumers. VMD’s industry expertise and existing relationships make them the perfect choice to continue to drive growth for the brand in these markets.”

Inspired by the precision and luxury of the Jaguar automotive brand, Jaguar Eyewear delivers bold design, cutting-edge materials and refined craftsmanship, Doherty said. “Our team is passionate about bringing exceptional international eyewear to New Zealand and Australian practices and Jaguar is a strong fit for today’s style-conscious and quality-focused consumers.”

VMD’s subsidiary in Luscombe, Queensland, will continue to handle all sales, marketing and customer service for Jaguar Eyewear across New Zealand and Australia.

Design Eyewear’s acquisition of the Menrad Group also includes JOOP! and Morgan, as well as taking over full proprietary ownership of the brand Menrad, including its design rights and technical assets.
