Zeiss simplifies refraction

Zeiss has launched Visucore 500, which it describes as a high-precision system combining objective and subjective refraction designed to deliver fast and reliable results.

The demands for a digital, holistic experience when visiting an eyecare professional have grown, said the company. “The Zeiss Visucore 500 reflects exactly that: a state-of-the-art instrument that automatically guides you through the process. It quickly delivers precise data, regardless of the size of the refraction room or the level of staff experience.”

The Visucore 500’s built-in mirrors and lens make it possible to physically create an optical focus in the distance, all within a footprint of just 0.8m2, said Zeiss. “This small footprint may allow for another refraction lane to expand your exam capabilities, or to use valuable space more efficiently.” For a seamless workflow, it can also be controlled using an iPad via the Zeiss VisuConsult 500, with refraction values transferred directly to Zeiss’ centration unit, thus automating the order via Zeiss VisuStore, said the company.
