Marking World Optometry Day, Specsavers recognised six optometrists across New Zealand and Australia for delivering outstanding eyecare services for children in their local communities.
Reviewing clinical reporting on children’s vision, health outcome data and patient feedback, Sharifeh Safdari from Specsavers Tauranga Crossing was one of the optometrists lauded.
Over the past 12 months, these six optometrists have collectively cared for more than 2,500 children in their communities, routinely detecting the earliest signs of treatable conditions and leading the way with making myopia management the standard of care, said Dr Ben Ashby, Specsavers ANZ clinical services director. “The optometrists recognised this year are not only delivering excellent clinical care, but their commitment to early detection and ongoing management is helping children see better today while protecting their sight for the future.”
