Percept Corporation, a developer of eye tracking, eye control and perceptual optimisation technology, has released MiWear Pro, a device designed to mitigate migraines and promote calm by allowing only a narrow band of green light to reach the wearer’s eye.
MiWear is designed only to be used indoors and the company said purchasers will also receive a free companion app in the coming months. “We have patients who suffer from chronic headaches, anxiety, have trouble sleeping, or maybe just feel the effects of long hours in front of a computer. Now they sit in our office and tell us about the change; it is life-altering for them,” said optometrist Dr Dorothy Hitchmoth, a Percept advisor.
According to Percept, narrow green-band wavelength use has been shown to promote calming, relaxation and other therapeutic benefits and was pioneered by Harvard migraine and neurology researcher Dr Rami Burstein, who is also an advisor to Percept.
