Dedicated to vision care, research and innovation, the inaugural Silmo Academy Congress in Bali, 6–8 April 2026, is now open for registration.
The congress will feature 20 international speakers, including orthoptist and dementia researcher Dr Marianne Coleman (Australia); Dr Cindy Tromans (UK), optometrist at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and honorary clinical lecturer at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Manchester; Gabriëlle Janssen (Netherlands) optometrist and president of the European Council of Optometry and Optics; physicist, lens designer and qualified optical dispenser Dr Grant Hannaford (Australia), senior lecturer at the School of Optometry and Vision Science University of New South Wales, among others. Joining the line-up is the Association of Dispensing Opticians New Zealand’s popular MC Stephen Caunter and optometrist Jason Dhana.
The three-day programme is built around five key themes: placing the patient at the heart of practice; healthy ageing and presbyopia; gaining competitiveness in professional practice; light management; and future advances in optometry and optics.
The congress will be hosted at Hotel Paradisus, Nusa Dua. Early-bird ticket availability ends 31 January.
