Auckland Eye – Taras Papchenko
Dr Taras Papchenko has recently joined the team at Auckland Eye. An experienced cataract and general ophthalmologist, he has specialist experience in neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. He returned to Auckland after completing fellowships overseas to work as a consultant ophthalmologist in Greenlane Clinical Centre and renew his connection to ophthalmic research with Auckland University where he’s also an honorary senior lecturer.
Dr Papchenko said he’s excited to be joining the close-knit team at Auckland Eye where’s he’s working with several doctors who were previously his teachers and mentors. “I am very humbled to be able to bring my knowledge and expertise to this dedicated team to continue offering cutting edge services to patients with ocular concerns.”
Welcoming him to Auckland Eye, Dr Dean Corbett said Dr Papchenko further expands Auckland Eye’s expertise. “Taras has attended fellowships in oculoplastics, orbit and neuro-ophthalmology and also has a strong interest in ophthalmic imaging.”
Outside of ophthalmology, Dr Papchenko is an experienced figure skater, maintaining his interest through coaching at Avondale and Botany Downs. He will consult at Auckland Eye in Remuera, Takapuna and New Lynn.
