What used the be considered science fiction is now becoming a reality with BMW Motorrad’s new ConnectedRide smartglasses with head-up display technology. 

The innovative motorcycle goggles offer the head-up display technology used in the automotive sector to project data such as navigation, speed or gear, directly into the rider’s field of vision, enabling anticipatory and safer riding, according to BMW. 

The smartglasses connect to the rider’s smartphone via Bluetooth and an app. The projection positioning and settings can be selected before or during the ride, via the multi-controller on the motorcycle handlebars. The company said the glasses offer a high level of comfort and can be adapted to fit various helmets and face shapes, with the lithium-ion battery affording up to 10 hours of operation.
