iCare’s new Eidon Ultra-Widefield Module expands the retinal imaging field of view to 200˚, maximising detection of peripheral retinal pathologies.
Compatible with the Eidon family of fundus imaging devices, the module offers ultra-high-resolution images from centre to periphery and multiple imaging modalities for a complete picture, said Designs for Vision’s Gian Victoria at CCLS. “The Ultra-Widefield Module captures 120˚ images of the retina in a single shot and up to 200˚ with the mosaic functionality. Thanks to Eidon’s TrueColour Confocal technology, it provides unsurpassed image quality, sharpness and detail throughout the retina.”

Like other Eidon fundus imaging devices, it can capture images through pupils as small as 2.5mm and through media opacities such as cataracts or corneal scarring, he said. “The new module lens can be screwed onto most existing Eidon devices. Fully automated, it allows the clinician to focus on the patient instead of the device during the exam, but also has a manual override if needed.”
