Glaucoma Australia announced the inaugural recipients of its Glaucoma Research Grants Programme on World Sight Day, 10 October.
Dr George Kong of Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and Professor Jamie Craig from Flinders University both received funding to further their research into the disease which affects over 300,000 Australians, according to Glaucoma Australia.
"Both research proposals strongly support Glaucoma Australia’s commitment to funding high quality glaucoma research which seeks to improve the lives of people with glaucoma through better detection, treatment and monitoring," said James Christensen, Glaucoma Australia Research Committee Chair.
