The Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board (ODOB) is consulting its members on new draft telehealth standards covering both professions.
“Digital technologies have become an essential part of healthcare,” said ODOB registrar Elmarie Stander. “The development of these standards has been brought forward by the current pandemic climate. They outline what is expected of optometrists and dispensing opticians when providing telehealth services to members of the public and provide a framework to ensure practitioners carry out telehealth services safely.”
The consultation closes on 20 March and submission can be submitted to [email protected]. For more, see https://www.odob.health.nz/news/consultations/
