The International Myopia Institute (IMI) has announced it is on track to deliver consensus reports, tackling areas of myopia not addressed in its first set of ground-breaking white papers*, in early 2021 and has named chairs for each new taskforce.
Seven taskforces have been set up to bring consensus to the following areas:
- Impact of myopia – chair Prof Padmaja Sankaridurg (Australia)
- Paediatric high myopia – chair Prof Ian Flitcroft (Ireland)
- High myopia in adults and their associated complications – chair Prof Kyoto Ohno-Matsui (Japan)
- Preferred practice patterns (PPPs) – chair Prof Jost Jonas (Germany)
- Environmental risk factors in myopia – chair Prof Ian Morgan (Australia)
- Accommodation and binocular vision in myopia – chair Dr Nicola Logan (UK)
- Yearly digest 2020 – chair Prof Earl Smith (US) and Dr Monica Jong (Australia)
