The annual International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) World Sight Day photo competition is open for submissions and includes a new category, ‘Love Your Eyes at Work’, encouraging entrants to capture subjects taking measures to prioritise their eyes at work.
Other categories are: Love Your Eyes, showcasing the importance of eye health, rehabilitation and access to services; Love Health for All, capturing subjects delivering health services; and Eye-sights, celebrating the intimate connection between photography and eyes. Entrants are asked to capture their own ‘Eye-sights’ as a reminder to all of us to #LoveYourEyes. Eye-sights can be anything in everyday life that resembles an eye, such as a cloud formation, a landscape or a random object.
Submissions can be made here. Cash prizes include US$1,000 (professional photographer) and $750 (amateur photgrapher). The competition closes on 20 October 2023.
