The Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences at the University of Melbourne is the newest Cochrane Eyes and Vision Centre (CEV) for evidence-based eyecare, recognising its important contribution to high-quality, up-to-date systematic reviews to inform eye care practice and policy.
“The centres for evidence-based medicine are critical to our goal of assembling a portfolio of up-to-date systematic reviews that inform eyecare, by making the reviews publicly available to patients, clinicians and other decision makers,” a CEV spokesperson said.
Other CEV centres include the Wilmer Eye Institute, Byers Eye Institute, Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, Ohio State University College of Optometry and the Montefiore Medical Centre’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, GB Bietti Foundation, University of Florence and the Centre for Applied Vision Research School of Health Sciences, City, University of London.
