The popular annual Ocular Therapeutics Conference has morphed into a series of four ocular therapeutics evenings (OTEs), with organisers promising an exciting range of practice-enhancing topics.
“After a year of uncertainties about when we can come together in person, we are excited to announce our educational Ocular Therapeutics Evening Series for 2021,” said co-organiser Associate Professor Ilva Rupenthal, head of the Buchanan Ocular Therapeutics Unit at the University of Auckland. “Each evening will comprise a three-hour themed event, with one longer introductory presentation and four rapid talks, followed by a live multiple-choice-question poll and a panel discussion. We have an excellent line-up of themes and speakers to enhance your practical understanding of key ocular therapeutics aspects. Whether you can only attend one evening or all four, this educational opportunity is not one to be missed!”
The first evening seminar focuses on glaucoma therapeutics and will be hosted at the Grafton Campus at Auckland University from 6-9pm on Wednesday 12 May 2021. Speakers include Professor Helen Danesh-Meyer, Drs Shenton Chew, Graham Reeves and Hussain Patel and A/Prof Rupenthal and CPD points will be available. Proposed dates and themes for the three remaining OTEs are:
- Monday 12 July – anterior segment
- Tuesday 14 September – dry eye disease
- Tuesday 26 October – paediatrics.
